Purpose / intended use

Adhesive fixation plaster for fixation of bandage ends, compresses, cannulas, tubes, catheters for application on intact skin

Description

Slightly transparent roll plaster with a skin-friendly silicone adhesive that is particularly gentle on skin and hair. Unlike conventional plasters, the adhesive strength remains constant over the entire wearing time and enables painless and residue-free removal as well as easy repositioning. The plaster can be torn off crosswise and lengthwise by hand or cut to size. Side protectors protect against soiling. It contains no natural rubber latex and is therefore also suitable for allergy sufferers.

Field of application

- Fixation of dressings, catheters, probes or tubes for sensitive skin
- For use on patients with very sensitive, irritated or damaged skin: e.g. older people, premature and newborn babies, patients with damaged skin
- Suitable for allergy-prone or latex-sensitive patients
- Frequent fixation, where the plaster must be removed and repositioned regularly without causing skin irritation
- Post-operative applications where atraumatic dressing fixation is important

Kontraindikationen / Warnhinweise

- Open, oozing or heavily bleeding wounds to which the fixation plaster would have to be applied directly
- Known hypersensitivity or allergy to silicone (very rare, but possible)
- Very moist or oily skin, where adhesion may be insufficient
- Application under tension if a particularly firm fixation is required (e.g. under heavy mechanical stress)
- Fixation on areas of the body that are subject to heavy movement or stress. Silicone plasters might not adhere sufficiently or could come loose
